Another great meal at Rustico! We go there fairly often and always have excellent service and good food. We think it is the best Westport restaurant. Very dependable.

Westport now article on Rustico Trattoria
Rustico Trattoria, a new Italian restaurant, opens Monday at 1431 Post Road East at the location formerly occupied by Pane Vino Ristorante which closed several years ago. The new restaurant is owned by Norwalk resident Miguel Donofrio, a veteran restauranteur and chef who was a prior owner of Westport’s Finalmente Trattoria at 165 Post Road East and Assaggio in Stratford According to his son, Lucas, 26, the Donofrio family including his sisters, Leticia, 24, and Anna, 22, will work at Rustico along with their father and mother, Gisele, each of whom emigrated from Sao Paulo, Brazil. It will be open seven days a week serving lunch Monday through Friday from noon to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday and until 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

I thought it would be hard to replace Panne Vino but Rustico is great. the pasta with lobster, veal with prosciutto and shellfish & linguini were all perfect. the $25/bottle wine list is great....luv'd the dolcetto. service is outstanding. and there weren't a million little kids eating pizza like Tarry Lodge. make a new year's resolution to visit!!

Superb Westport Dining Experience
My wife and I went to Rustico Trattoria to celebrate an anniversary with a five at the end and were delighted by our dining experience. We had heard good things in Greenwich about this relatively new trattoria in Westport. The greeting was genuinely welcoming from the moment we stepped in from the front door of this emerging, hot spot in Westport. The place was bustling in part due to Moms' Night Out on Wednesday night, which I gather is becoming common here but was unobtrusive even in this smaller trattoria. The cheerful, intimate trattoria had a lovely ambiance with beautifully wrought stonework throughout. Glen was our waiter and he was most attentive and gracious. We started with a nice Chardonnay and Martini followed by a Caesar which was generous but delicately prepared so that the fresh flavours presented themselves originally and we were off to a good start. I ordered the Pollo Ripieno which generous stuffed chicken dish came with a beautifully prepared red wine sauce.
